The world's most difficult trek while fasting
THE FASTING WALK is a 360-kilometer, 0-calorie trek accomplished in the Mackenzie Mountains of Canada.
By completing this approximately 360 km hike along the Canol Heritage Trail (reputed to be the world’s most difficult trek) while fasting, Florian aims to draw his fellow citizens’ attention to the benefits of fasting and the incredible capabilities of the human body that lie within each individual, provided they are not weakened by an unsuitable lifestyle.
A proponent of minimalism, Florian sets off without proper mountain equipment and walks in sandals, even barefoot: this is not recklessness but the aspiration to focus on the essentials. He bets that his vital needs can be mostly met, without artifice or tools, through the strength of the mind, its harmony with the body, and the rigor in preparing it.
