Retreat Rules

Preamble

  • Florian Gomet is committed to providing a framework conducive to the individual development of participants and to doing everything possible to ensure that each person’s inner transformation can take place as harmoniously as possible.
  • The proposed practices are based on a benevolent approach involving listening, compassion, advice, and care, but also challenges and invitations to push one’s limits, with the utmost respect for freedom of conscience and personal feelings.
  • Participants are aware that their registration corresponds to a commitment to this personal journey, which should ultimately bring them greater inner peace and joy and enable them to live more fully. They approach Florian Gomet’s workshops with a spirit of respect and benevolence towards themselves, the group, and the facilitation team.

Physical and Mental Health

  • Each participant declares that they are in good physical health and fully physically capable of participating in the workshop. They are aware that the activities offered during the workshops may require significant physical engagement (respiratory, articular, hormesis, etc.). Events such as injuries or physical problems can occur, and it is necessary to be aware of one’s physical health before attending a workshop.
  • The participant declares that they are in good emotional and mental health, and fully psychologically capable, that they are not taking any substances likely to alter their state of consciousness, and that they are fully capable of giving consent. They declare being able to ask the facilitation team for support if this condition deteriorates during or after the workshop.
  • The participant commits to informing Florian Gomet of any psychiatric history, specific medication treatments, and any difficulties that could impair their sense of responsibility, harm the psychological or physical health of others, or compromise any of the proposed activities. If the participant’s physical, emotional, or mental health condition changes during or after the workshop, the participant commits to informing the supervising team.
  • The participant commits to informing Florian Gomet of any food allergies or intolerances.
  • The workshops and sessions offered by Florian Gomet aim for personal development and provide tools and techniques to create more well-being and happiness in each person’s life. They are not therapeutic in purpose. They cannot in any way replace medical advice or a psychiatric or psychotherapeutic treatment that the participant might be undergoing.
  • Florian Gomet reserves the right to refuse access to workshops and sessions to any person they deem unable to follow the proposed practices, who may compromise the proper conduct of the activities, or harm the group in any way. Regardless of the situation, the participant accepts any decision by Florian Gomet concerning the questioning of their participation in a workshop or its interruption if it has already started. If this should occur before the start of the workshop or during a workshop, there will be no discount or refund.
  • Regardless of the reason given, participants commit not to leave the workshop without having a discussion with Florian Gomet. If their departure is their own doing, the facilitation fees will not be refunded (nor any potential accommodation fees).

Confidentiality

  • Participants and Florian Gomet commit to keeping confidential any information concerning the identity of participants, their private lives, and the conduct of persons present at the workshops. They also commit not to disclose any information concerning the content or form of the structures or exercises proposed. Statements made during sharing times are also entirely confidential.
  • Participants commit not to take any photos of workshop participants without their authorization and not to publish any images in any form without the prior written consent of the persons concerned.
  • Florian Gomet may take group or individual photos for management and/or communication reasons related to the sole proprietorship Florian Gomet. In this case, either the photos will be blurred so that persons are absolutely unrecognizable, or prior written authorization (image rights) will be requested.

Limits

  • During the practices, participants commit both:
    • to respect their own limits (free and conscious choice to follow the proposals)
    • and not to go beyond the limit proposed during the practices.
  • Violent acts, whether physical or verbal, are strictly prohibited for the entire duration of the workshop.
  • Participants commit not to leave the room during activities without notifying Florian Gomet.

Respect for Others, the Group, and the Venue

Participants and members of the facilitation team commit to respecting others and the group, and in particular to:

  • Not consume drugs or substances that could alter the state of consciousness or behavior.
  • Ensure respect for others, in their experiences and difficulties, with benevolence and empathy.
  • Ensure respect for the group, and in particular the starting times of the practices.
  • Ensure the good upkeep of the venue and preserve it, by respecting the specific rules of the host venue stated at the beginning of the workshop.
  • Bring their good mood and smile whenever possible.

Individual Responsibility and Freedom

  • The proposed practices are intended to give the individual greater freedom, and even if they are ultimately meant to produce greater well-being and enable a fuller life, they can sometimes trigger fears or resistance. Florian Gomet’s role is to encourage everyone to engage fully in the practices. Nevertheless, if they are felt to be too challenging, participants are free to refuse to perform an activity or exercise that would expose them to excessive physical or psychological difficulty.
  • Participants in the activities of the sole proprietorship Florian Gomet attend consciously and bear full responsibility for their actions and what they experience in the workshops.
  • They declare that they hold valid Personal Liability Insurance for the dates and locations of the workshops they are attending.
  • Florian Gomet cannot be held responsible for any food allergies or intolerances of participants, whether or not these have been reported to Florian Gomet.
  • They declare that they hold valid personal insurance for the dates and locations of the workshops they are attending, in case of health problems, and they release Florian Gomet from liability in case of an incident of any kind.
