November 3, 2024 - Paris
In the weeks that followed this first meeting of “friends of Irène”, I felt the backlash of a life rhythm that had been too intense since spring, with events following one after the other. Fortunately, I had three weeks of respite ahead of me to recharge in the Eastern Pyrenees before the next activity: leading a Fasting and Trekking event in Aude for which I only needed to scout the locations.
Thus, 13 joyful & dynamic adventurers of Living Nutrition, barefoot, in sandals or shoes, celebrated the first days of autumn with a 7-day water fast around Pech de Bugarach. While dealing with cool, humid, and unpredictable weather, we walked daily from 15 to 30 km in the majestic forests of the Corbières massif. In total: 4000 m of elevation gain and 120 km of walking.
After this intense adventure where the unique energy of the region left no one indifferent, I had another month in the metropolis to prepare for my trip to India (from November to April), lead a week of Fasting to Change in the Abondance valley, before heading down to Toulon to participate in the last screening of the year of The Footprint. A stay of a few days in Var that was an opportunity to see friends and gather around a delicious plant-based and living meal while singing mantras with Caroll on guitar and me on ukulele!
Everything was then ready for India, and I had one week left to slow down, gradually head towards Paris while visiting my family and reflecting on the past season. This was without counting on a car breakdown (Free Your Van is currently stuck in a garage near Grenoble), the crash of my website, and a nice detox crisis (cough and hoarse voice). I had to hitchhike from the garage to the nearest train station. 1.5 hours of waiting before a helpful driver offered to drop me off at La Tour du Pin station just in time before my train left. The situation seemed chaotic until I spotted on the dashboard of the car a statuette representing Ganesh. This wink from life (one among many) is a good omen, and I think I am in good hands… With a lot of elbow grease (that’s different from castor oil ;-)), I was able, at the last minute, to get all my things in order before departure. All that’s left is to publish the November newsletter and take my flight tomorrow Monday from Orly to first go to the Czech Republic. I have indeed planned an 8-day stopover in this country to participate in a disarmament workshop (a practice detailed here). Only once I am well “disarmed” will I set foot on Indian soil for the first time with the intention of experiencing magnificent inner and outer adventures…. See you next month!…
