September 7, 2024 - Perpignan
After Irène’s birthday, I stopped for a few days in Burgundy to visit my family and friends. It was in this homeland that I celebrated my 40th birthday on August 9, a symbolic threshold that I celebrated by treating myself to a plane ticket to India where I will reside from November to next April with the aim of drawing inspiration from the functioning of ashrams to set up the practical school of Living Nutrition.
After this brief Burgundy interlude, Free Your Van took me to the Vosges where I led the third Fasting and Trekking of the year. We were 6 adventurers of Living Nutrition walking without food and only on water (no juice, no broth, or herbal tea) for about sixty kilometers (with 2500 m of elevation gain) in 4 days in the Vosges mountains in the area of Bresse and Gérardmer. Even though it was the thirteenth edition (since the creation of the concept in 2019, following the expedition ‘The Fasting Walk’), all Fasting and Treks are different and nothing is ever guaranteed in advance. Even in a short summer format like this one, adventure is always on the agenda. There are falls, morale dips, unexpected weather, the search for a camping spot, sometimes a lack of water, extra kilometers, unforeseen events, and detoxes to manage…
After the Vosges, I made a brief pit stop at my friend Hervé Deschamps in Annecy to pick up some copies of my book “The Footprint” before heading out the next day to Aveyron to participate in Naturofest. There, I joyfully reunited with friends and led two conferences on nutrition and lifestyle hygiene as well as a practical workshop on my morning routine to maintain the body. Nourished by all these exchanges as well as the delicious mangoes from JurassicFruit and the fresh spirulina offered at the festival, I joined the rejuvenating Lake Salagou for a few days.
Then, on Saturday, August 31, in the field of Nicolas Porcher near Avignon, the first meeting of the ‘Friends of Irène’ took place, a Telegram group (contact me if you wish to join) that was created following the passing of Irène Grosjean. Beautiful reunions took place around a simple & lively program: hugs, laughter, swimming, fig picking, a bit of raw cuisine, a walk, holotropic breathing, a concert with the divine voice of Rosalyne, and even a car lift with bare hands thanks to the invigorating energy of raw fruits & vegetables…
Thank you life and thank you Irène for this meeting that warmed all our hearts…. See you next month for new encounters around Living Nutrition…
